tired

Last night I did a 5.3 mile loop, mostly in the dark. The thing is, last year I remember that as soon as the heat of summer went away, so did the light. Last night, dark AND hot! Yuck.

For various reasons, I decided to take the day off of work today and get my long run in. It is a step back week in my schedule, which means instead of increasing mileage every week, ever forth week the mileage is actually a little lower. So this week's long run was "only" 11 miles.

I slept in and obviously needed the rest because even though I didn't wake up until 11, I still wanted a nap later. And I didn't really accomplish much other than holding the couch cushions in place. So I got a late start. Still...I finished all 11. It's 9pm and I feel like I could honestly head to bed and turn in for the night.

Other than feeling tired on the run, I felt pretty good. No major pains and my legs and hip were generally ok. My hip is still bothering me a bit but with the good advice I got from two physical therapists and a coach (thanks Ali, Trish, and Brian), and with my new shoes, I think things have gotten much better. I have been concentrating on my form as well.

Just 64 days to go!
