What a Week to Be a Runner

It has been a HOT week. Like...really really hot! So my weekly total mileage was again lower than I wanted...14 miles. But there were a few days this week that running was just not going to happen because the temps were hitting record highs.

Thursday I got up early and ran a short run. Then Thursday night was yoga in Bryant Park. It was great...a lower body workout but my whole body had to work. My shoulders, back, and abs were sore the next day, in addition to my aching calves and quads. Yesterday was my long run for the week...9 miles. But I waited until 6 or so to start and it was so comfortably cool out I was really glad I wasn't doing a long run in the heat that has been around the past few weeks. So this morning I am sore.

Today is a scheduled cross-training day. But I think I may end up just taking a long walk with my wife.
