I'm in

It's official. I'm signed up for the race. Just three long months of training to go!

There are many nights I want to blog but after work, running, and working on the house, I'm tired! I need more sleep or more coffee.

Today I had a short three mile run. Fartlek. It translates to "speed play" but it felt more like speed no fun. I figure that when I run intervals, though they are faster than my normal pace, I run slower than my normal pace on the recovery portion so I end up exactly the same speed at the end. Oh well.

I really am into numbers and the science of running. I've read too much for my own good I think. I would LOVE to know my accurate max HR but I don't want to go through the hell of the test to get it, which basically means running until my heart wants to pound out of my chest and run a minute more and see how fast my heart beats. So I try to stick to HR zones but I'm often skeptical of how close to the zones I actually am.

How's this for a boring post?!

Today my Runner's World issue came! The best day of the month!
