finally a good week


This week's total was 19 miles. Finally a solid week. Today I did a long, slow 8 miler which was the longest run I've done since last year's marathon training. And I'm happy to say that I ran it within 2 minutes of the time it took me the week before the marathon. I have one more long run next weekend before the Brooklyn Half Marathon on May 22. I have not been figuring it for a PR race so I'm just going to enjoy the day.

Tuesday I ran with my friend Trish and her baby. I pretty much always run alone so it was a nice change to get out and run while also chatting along the way. The time went quickly and, although we aren't exactly sure how far we went, it was nice to get in some miles running along the West Side by the water in NYC. We'll definitely do it again.

One of my goals this year was to run a race I haven't run before. I think that will happen next month with RunAmuck Mud Run. I've been wanting to do a mud run for a long time and this one looks like a lot of fun and at a doable distance.
